The origin of blackjack was in the 17th century in France, they called it Vingt-et-Un, or just ”
21″. The rules then were slightly different from the blackjack that we are used to; In the past, only the dealer could double down, and there was a betting round in between the cards dealt.
Later on, the game came a long with the European immigrants to North America in the 19th century, and made all the way to Las Vegas, when gambling became legal in the state.

Therefore, to bring players to the game, the casinos tried various bonus plan to attract them. They had an idea and decided that a bonus would pay 10 to 1 and cash out when the player made a 21, for instance; Jack of spades with an ace of clubs. They called it “Blackjack”.
21 began to increase in popularity, and by the 1930′s the game was the third most famous game of Las Vegas. Although in the 1950′s it was only second after craps.
